Happiness Habit #5: Move Your Magic
Here’s a little secret: when you take care of your body, your body takes care of you!
You don’t need to do boring exercises or stuff you don’t like. Just find your kind of fun! Run around
outside, dance to your favourite song, climb a tree, ride your bike, or stretch like a sleepy cat—any
kind of movement counts. Moving your body isn’t just good for your muscles, it’s great for your mind
too. It helps shake off stress and makes room for more feel-good chemicals like endorphins, which
give you an awesome energy boost and help you feel calm and focused.
Remember: Moving your body is like flipping the switch on your happiness. Even a little wiggle can
wake up your joy!
Habit #4: Happy Foods, Happy You!
Your body is kind of like a superhero—it helps you run, play, think, and feel! But even superheroes
need the right fuel. When you eat colourful fruits and veggies, whole foods, and drink lots of water,
your body gets stronger, your brain works better, and your feelings feel more balanced.
Did you know your body is like a little happiness factory? Every second, it’s doing over 100,000 cool
chemical reactions—like making special feel-good chemicals such as serotonin, endorphins, and
oxytocin. These are like tiny happiness sparkles that help you feel calm, focused, and full of joy.
But here’s the secret: your body needs the right kind of fuel to make those sparkles! That means
eating real, fresh foods—like crunchy apples, juicy oranges, colourful veggies, and whole grains.
These give your body the power to stay strong, think clearly, and feel awesome inside.
Some things—like too much sugar, caffeine (that’s in soda and energy drinks), and loads of junk
food—can make your happiness factory slow down or get a little grumpy. So, instead of lots of sweets
or soda, try fresh water or fruit.
And guess what? It's not just food that feeds you! Playing outside, listening to music you love, or
having a bubble bath can all help you feel recharged and happy too.
Remember: Being kind to your body is one of the best ways to take care of your happiness. When
your body feels good, it’s way easier to feel good on the inside too! Every bite of healthy food is like
a high-five to your happy cells!
